Ephesians 6:5-9

8/12/18 Bible Class

Teacher: Jim Roquemore
No matter what kind of relationship we have with someone, Christians should always behave as Christians.  In Ephesians 6, Paul deals with the relationship between slaves and masters, a passage we often apply to the employee/employer relationship today.  Whatever situation we find ourselves in, even if it is one we are not happy with, we have no excuse for not behaving as a Christian.

Ruth 3

8/8/18 Wednesday Bible Class

Teacher: Justin P. Sivley
God is always working in the lives of his people, but sometimes he expects his people to move things along as well.  In Ruth 3, Naomi takes the initiative to move things along for Ruth and Boaz, and Ruth’s midnight meeting with Boaz proves both innocent and fruitful.  Boaz vows to handle the situation regarding Ruth that very day.

Are Bible Classes THAT Important? – 2 Tim. 2:15

8/5/18 a.m. sermon

Speaker: Justin P. Sivley
“As the Bible School Goes, so Goes the Congregation.” That is a sentiment that has been stated by several, and was used by Bro. Ira North as a chapter title in his book about church growth titled Balance.  We need to think about our attitude toward Bible Class and understand the great opportunity we have to grow in Christ through Bible Class efforts.
Special Thanks to Mark N. Posey of the Austinville Church of Christ for the outline to this sermon.

Ruth 2

8/1/18 Bible Class

Teacher: Justin P. Sivley
We often hear that God works in mysterious ways.  His providence in our lives is something that we do not understand, but if we trust in his word, we know that he is working for us.  In Ruth 2, we see how, even though Naomi believed God was against her, God was in her corner the whole time, and ensuring that his plans would carry out according to his will.
