We have seen a lot of trouble throughout the book of Numbers, but we are drawing our series of lessons to a close on a more positive not, as Moses makes preparation for the future, appointing Joshua as his successor to lead Israel after he is gone.

We cover a little bit more of Balaam and then focus on Israel’s sin with the women of Moab and their joining of themselves to Baal of Peor. We also notice the zeal of Phinehas.

The story of Balaam’s donkey talking to him is a favorite among many people. Most of us can probably see the look on Balaam’s face when his donkey first starts talking, and then again when no doubt realizes that he is having a conversation with the donkey. But there is much more to the story in Numbers 22

In Numbers 21, we find that once again the Israelites are complaining, so God sends fiery serpents into the camp to punish them. To save the people from death, Moses is told to do something that Jesus will later reference when talking about his mission.

Numbers 20 brings a lot of challenges to the people of Israel. Two leaders of the people (Miriam and Aaron) die, Moses disobeys God, and the Edomites present a challenge. Join us as we study God’s Word together

The narrative of the book of Numbers seems like it is one misstep after another. We’ve seen a number of Israel’s shortcomings so far, and today we will look at Korah’s Rebellion. May we always endeavor to learn from what has been written in the past.
In Number 14, Israel was afraid because of the report they heard about the mighty people that were in the Promised Land. Though God had been with them all the way, they failed to believe, and complained against God and against his faithful servants. God was going to punish Israel immediately, but Moses interceded on their behalf, and God decreed that the people would remain in the wilderness for 40 years.

As we continue to study in the book of numbers, we come to chapter 13, where Moses sent 12 spies into the land of Canaan to examine the land and come back with a report. Once again, as a result of the report, the people begin to doubt God.
9/17/17 Bible Class
Numbers 12 continues the trend of complaints in the book of Numbers. Miriam and Aaron, the sister and brother of Moses, complained against him until God straightened them out. Join us as we study God’s Word together.

Continuing a study of the book of Numbers, we look in Chapter 11 and consider the complaint of the people of Israel, as well as God’s solution for Moses being overwhelmed by the people’s complaints. Near the end of the chapter, God answers Israel’s complaint, giving them more meat than they can stand.
