From the Dark Depths – Jonah 2 (2/25/24 a.m. sermon)

There is little doubt that Jonah’s story of fleeing from God and getting swallowed by the great fish is a famous one.  Yet the story of Jonah also teaches about repentance and God’s love for all people. And in the middle of the story is an example of prayer from which we hope to learn a little bit as we study together this week.

The Coming King of Zion – Zechariah 9:9-10 (2/11/24 a.m. sermon)

There are a number of prophecies about the coming of Jesus, with a number appearing in the book of Zechariah.  Among them is a prophecy of his coming to Jerusalem humbly riding on a donkey, the fulfillment of which is recorded in all four gospel accounts.  Though it seems the people of Jerusalem weren’t quite ready for all that the coming of the king entailed.  And we are left to ask ourselves, will we be ready when he comes again.
